An Introduction. Sort of.

Well hello there.

Welcome to what I hope will turn out to be the start of a beautiful, vitriolic and downright honest reporting of everyway the 'media' has managed to piss me off.

What do I mean?

We are surrounded by it. Everywhere, all the time, in everyway.


T.V. Interweb, newspapers, adverts, Radio, posters, text messages, WAP, WiFi, everywhere you go, the media is there. To serve, to inform, to educate and, apparently, to entertain. Now I do like to be entertained, I'm even prepared to be educated, informed and courted - at an appropriate time - into parting with my hard earned wage. What I am not prepared to be is pissed off. Be in my face all you like media, I may even pay attention at points, but if you piss me off - I will fight back.

What pisses me off? Well, here is one prime candidate for starters:

Katie Couric






Who is she? Miss Couric is the news Anchor for CBS in the States. Miss Couric is paid $15,000,000.00 per annum. Now media roar is all for the free market. I'm all for big wages. It is the way the world works. But let us put this in context. Let us say that Miss Couric - or KC as I call her - is generously allowed 4 weeks holiday a year...
This then takes her daily rate to:
$62,500.00

She doesn't even play for Chelsea.

Just under 50 grand a day?! fuck right off. I don't care how good she is at reading an autocue broadcast journalism, that is a rate of remuneration that can only be described as obscene. Seriously, what the fuck can anyone do that is worth that much money? The impact of this woman doing her job can in no way register that significantly with humanity.
What's that? You don't care, it's not your money? Oh yes it is. Advertisers will be paying silly(er) money to run their commercials during the broadcasts. Those companies are there to make money, so they make it by charging more for their products, and yes, that's where you and I come in, and that Pisses me off. In fact, to pay for these sorts of uber wages, the American networks air advert breaks with alarming frequency, and it's happening here now, and that really pisses me off.

Melissa Thiereau. How on earth is it fair that we get Lorraine Kelly, and the French get to wake up to Melissa?
